Marian Aguiló Mayans

 

Marian Aguiló-Mayans is currently a Grant Holder Manager and Network Coordinator at the Department of Psychology, University of East London, overseeing the COST Action A European consortium to determine how complex, real-world environments influence brain development (ENVIRO-DEV). Additionally, she works as a Research Assistant at the Centre for Brain and Cognitive Development (CBCD) at Birkbeck University of London, contributing to research on neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).  

Marian holds a First-class honours Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of West London. During her undergraduate studies, she completed a two-month research placement with the London Interdisciplinary Doctoral Programme (LIDo) at the Behaviour and Online Neuroimaging to study the Development of Socialisation (BONDS). This experience led her to continue her research journey as a Research Assistant at the CBCD, focusing on BONDS.   

Currently pursuing an MSc in Computational Cognitive Neuroscience, Marian's research interests span development, music, art, neurodiversity, memory and sleep. She is also passionate about the implementation of machine learning, modelling, and computer brain interfaces to neuroscience research. Beyond her scientific pursuits, she is a painter, specialising in acrylics. Her artwork often portrays women reading, her loved ones, and the human body.
